TARGETING DNA METHYLATION ON TRANSGENERATIONAL CONSEQUENCES OF PRENATAL STRESS-INDUCED DEPRESSION

چکیده
Background: Depression is a common mental disorder with disabilities and mortalities burden. Maternal stress during pregnancy has strong correlation the depression of children event in their adulthood phase. Abundant maternal cortisol transfer to fetus generates blunted hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis response. Objective: To understand mechanism targeting DNA methylation on transgenerational consequences prenatal stress-induced depression. Methods: This review provides comprehensive explanation changes as well occasion new potential therapy that focused inhibitors from 33 trusted sources. Results: Higher fetal circulation led epigenetic development an antenatal situation. crucial genes such brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) nuclear receptor subfamily 3 group C member 1 (NR3C1) are responsible for molecular progression into next generation through transcriptional inhibition. Conclusion: Demethylation becoming target reduce risk who mother. The role plant bioactive compound demethylation agent promising need further exploration. Keywords: depression, methylation, stress.

Transgenerational programming of maternal behaviour by prenatal stress
Peripartum events hold the potential to have dramatic effects in the programming of physiology and behaviour of offspring and possibly subsequent generations. Here we have characterized transgenerational changes in rat maternal behaviour as a function of gestational and prenatal stress. Pregnant dams of the parental generation were exposed to stress from days 12-18 (F0-S). Their daughters and g...
متن کاملTransgenerational Adaptation of Arabidopsis to Stress Requires DNA Methylation and the Function of Dicer-Like Proteins
Plants exposed to stress pass the memory of exposure to stress to the progeny. Previously, we showed that the phenomenon of transgenerational memory of stress is of epigenetic nature and depends on the function of Dicer-like (DCL) 2 and DCL3 proteins. Here, we discuss a possible role of DNA methylation and function of small RNAs in establishing and maintaining transgenerational responses to str...
متن کاملTargeting DNA methylation.
Two nucleoside inhibitors of DNA methylation, azacitidine and decitabine, are now standard of care for the treatment of the myelodysplastic syndrome, a deadly form of leukemia. These old drugs, developed as cytotoxic agents and nearly abandoned decades ago were resurrected by the renewed interest in DNA methylation. They have now provided proof of principle for epigenetic therapy, the final cha...
متن کاملTransgenerational Inheritance of Modified DNA Methylation Patterns and Enhanced Tolerance Induced by Heavy Metal Stress in Rice (Oryza sativa L.)
BACKGROUND DNA methylation is sensitive and responsive to stressful environmental conditions. Nonetheless, the extent to which condition-induced somatic methylation modifications can impose transgenerational effects remains to be fully understood. Even less is known about the biological relevance of the induced epigenetic changes for potentially altered well-being of the organismal progenies re...
متن کاملTransgenerational Variations in DNA Methylation Induced by Drought Stress in Two Rice Varieties with Distinguished Difference to Drought Resistance
Adverse environmental conditions have large impacts on plant growth and crop production. One of the crucial mechanisms that plants use in variable and stressful natural environments is gene expression modulation through epigenetic modification. In this study, two rice varieties with different drought resistance levels were cultivated under drought stress from tilling stage to seed filling stage...
